Architecture-as-Immersive-Environment, moves away from architecture that looks like machines into architecture with behavior, and more importantly, not look like a machine at all: As intelligence (based on the conceptual premise of a project and in the design of a system), as part of a process (related to the generative realm of architecture) and as the object itself and its embedded intelligence.
The Immersive is an evolving state where analog conditions can be incorporated-to and transformed- in digital environments and digital behaviors can manifest physically. This goes beyond the capacity to generate simulations, as the digital environment is no longer just a medium for representation but an active agent on the feedback loop between input and output. The machines therefore will be the simultaneous expression of processed phenomena into physical and evolving event and environments.
The prototype starts with dividing a simple geometries: ovoid. The subdivision is acquired by projecting curves on them from different directions. Moving beyond arbitrary curves, I divided the ovoid with fractals. Starting from a simple ovoid, exploring the variations and intricacies of patterns on the surface of an object, to map the rhythm and differentiate the patterns, the study of subdivision is seeking opportunities to reveal the interior by an organized system of the exterior.
